Age Spot Removal
Age Spot Removal in Wolverhampton

Exactly what happens
Your age spot removal, step by step
A precise treatment, a short flake, and clearer, more even skin.
1The age spot
A flat brown patch of concentrated pigment from sun exposure. Every patch is checked with a digital skin scan first, anything that has changed in colour, shape or size is referred for a GP check.
2Gentle, precise treatment
A fine CryoPen tip freezes the pigmented surface layer, or on darker skin tones a Short Wave Diathermy probe treats it instead. Either way it is accurate to the millimetre, without touching the surrounding skin.
3It darkens, that's good
The spot darkens and dries over the following days: a sign the pigmented layer is lifting.
4Even-toned within weeks
The darkened layer flakes away over one to two weeks, revealing clearer, even-toned skin.
Not sure what you've got?
Age spot, seborrhoeic wart or mole, how to tell
They're treated differently, so it's worth knowing. Here's the quick way to tell them apart, and if you're still not sure, just send us a photo.
Age spot
Completely flat, light-to-mid brown patch with soft edges.
Seborrhoeic wart
Raised, waxy and rough, sits on the skin rather than in it.
About seborrhoeic wart removal →Mole
Usually smaller, darker and more defined than an age spot.
About mole removal →Your Results Timeline
Straight after your session
A brief sting during treatment and some redness afterwards, settling within a few hours.
The spot darkens, that's normal
The spot darkens over the first few days. This is normal, it means the pigment is lifting.
The darkened layer flakes away
The darkened layer flakes away naturally between days 5 and 14. Do not pick it.
Even-toned and settled
Skin tone continues to even out over the following weeks. Daily SPF protects the result.
Aftercare Guidance
Don't Pick the Flaking Skin
Let the darkened layer lift and flake away on its own, picking can leave marks the treatment itself would not.
Daily SPF Is Essential
Sun exposure is what created the spots. Use SPF 30 to 50 daily on treated areas to protect the new skin and help prevent new spots forming.
Gentle Skincare Only
Keep the area moisturised and avoid scrubs or exfoliating acids over the treated spots until the skin has fully settled.

What Our Clients Say
I went to Laser Skin Clinics for treatment for sun damage caused by years of overexposure to the sun. Although I initially booked IPL, the practitioner explained why a different treatment would be a better option, even though it was cheaper than the original treatment plan. She explained that, with summer approaching, IPL could potentially cause further skin damage, which showed she genuinely cared more about the customer and achieving the best outcome than simply selling treatments. The treatment itself was completely pain-free, and her calm, reassuring demeanour immediately put me at ease. She also took the time to explain the causes of sun damage and recommended some helpful products to use at home alongside the treatment. Overall, it was a really positive experience, and I’ll definitely be returning for other treatments in the future.
I recently had a consultation for hyperpigmentation/melasma, and I was extremely impressed with the level of care and honesty I received. The consultation was completely free, and rather than pushing me into treatment, I was advised that chemical peels would not be suitable during the current summer weather due to the increased risk of complications and rebound pigmentation. I was given a detailed skincare routine with specific product recommendations and a clear explanation of how to prepare my skin over the next couple of months before undergoing treatment. I really appreciated the conservative and professional approach. While some high-end clinics were ready to perform very aggressive peels in the middle of summer, this clinic prioritised the health of my skin and long-term results over making a quick sale. The consultation was informative, thorough, and genuinely reassuring. I now have a clear plan in place and will be returning in a few months to begin my chemical peel treatment. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for honest advice and expert care for pigmentation concerns.
First time visiting, and I'll definitely be coming back! It's a lovely place with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The ladies were all very friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout my visit. Highly recommended!

Age spots (solar lentigines, or liver spots) are patches of concentrated pigment caused by years of sun exposure. They are most common on the hands, face, chest and shoulders.
Fading creams work slowly and often incompletely. CryoPen cryotherapy (or Short Wave Diathermy on darker skin tones) lifts the pigmented layer itself in one precise treatment, with visible results within one to two weeks.
A treated spot rarely returns, but new ones can form with continued sun exposure. Daily SPF is the best protection.
You feel a brief cold sting with CryoPen, or a brief warm sting with diathermy, for a few seconds per spot. Most clients find it very tolerable, with no anaesthetic needed.
Yes, assessment and removal happen in the same visit.
Age spot removal typically heals without marking. The treated spot darkens, flakes away, and skin tone evens out over the following weeks.
If a pigmented patch has changed in colour, shape or size, has irregular borders, or we are not certain what it is, we will recommend a GP or dermatologist check before any cosmetic treatment. Your safety comes first.
The darkened layer flakes off within one to two weeks, and skin tone settles fully over two to six weeks.
We accept card, cash and contactless payment at the clinic. Your consultation and assessment are included in the session price.
Almost everyone. If you have a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator we simply avoid the diathermy option and treat with CryoPen freezing instead. On darker skin tones we usually choose diathermy rather than freezing, as freezing carries a small risk of leaving lighter patches. We take extra care, or recommend waiting, during pregnancy and with skin prone to keloid scarring. All of this is checked at your on-the-day assessment, and if it isn't right for you, we'll tell you honestly.
